When She Wants To
Anna had her first swimming lesson today. She loved it of course - it was made evident by the sullen look on her face when she had to get out of the pool after just 30 minutes. She was eager to try all of the new toys and games Miss Alex offered in the pool...as long as she did not have to go under water. She's adamant that she not have to do this (even though I know she wants to - I just think she wants to do it when SHE decides to do it).
Anna also didn't want to take a nap when I wanted her to today. Instead, she asked to read stories and play quietly in her room. After an hour of talking (some to me, some to herself) and playing, I heard her call out "Mommy." I went in to get her a few minutes later and she was fast asleep on the carpet, having decided that she did want to take a nap after all. I snapped a picture with my phone, proof to remind her that she can sleep with lights on (when she wants to)!

same thing happened to us yesterday- harper decided after 45 minutes that it was just taking too long to go to sleep. she went potty and i told her to try just a few more minutes (so i could finish something i was doing) and within a matter of 5, she was out for 2 hours. amazing what they do when they don't want to!
glad she enjoyed swimming! harper can't wait to go back this week.

Very cute picture and loved the smile on her face after her first hair cut. See you in NY. Love Mo J
EXACTLY!!! We think we are totally in control of our children, when really we're just pawns in their little game of life.
