After too many dreary winter days, we've been craving something fun and different to do together. Today, we decided to try bowling.
It's been at least four years since Blake and I have been bowling. We walked into the bowling alley and felt like we'd walked into a different era. Is it a requirement that all bowling alleys have black lights and neon everywhere? Must they play Poison, Warrant, and Motley Crue music non-stop? I won't lie - I knew the words to every song and didn't mind it all too much.
Anna took no time to warm up to the game. We helped her roll the ball down the lane with bumpers for the first game. She insisted we stay for a second game, and she insisted on doing it herself before it was done. Blake performed amazingly for his first time in years. I improved greatly with the second game, which wasn't tough to do. It didn't matter how we bowled, though - we had an incredibly fun time today, and look forward to doing it again.
Who knew the bowling alley had so many good photo opportunities...

Kell....the one you've labeled as 'my favorite'...is FANTASTIC. What great color and contrast...and the sweetness of that moment is truly captured. Consider framing that one. We haven't been bowling in ages...such a fun activity. You are inspiring me.

I love to bowl, but I could not handle the music and lights if it is high-tech. I have never been able to get anyone to go bowling with me, maybe Anna will in the future. I am not very good, but I think it is fun. I'll just need to look for a low-tech, oldie-but-goodie bowling alley.
